Azerbaijan’s wholesale prices for Jan-May 2012 reached 12.3% with 4.92 fold rise over consumer price rate
Baku, Fineko/abc.az. Growth of wholesale prices for Jan-May 2012 (year-on-year) surpassed consumer inflation rate 4.92 fold in Azerbaijan. The State Statistics Committee informs that this May the index of wholesale industrial prices declined by 7.6% versus April and year-on-year rise of 12.3% was registered for Jan-May 2012. Since early 2012 it was accumulated a 1.9% rise of their index. For comparison, consumer inflation was characterized with deflation of 0.9% in May and year-on-year price rise of 2.5% with accumulated inflation of 0.8% in 2012. This May prices of oil and gas sector decreased by 9.3% and year-on-year by grew by 13.9% for Jan-May 2012. In processing industry the prices rose by 0.4% and 3.9% respectively. In December 2011 prices in the oil and gas sector reduced by 1.4% and for 2011 grew by 23.9%. In December 2010, the growth of wholesale price index amounted to 0.4% versus November, and year-on-year 28.4%. In December 2009, growth in wholesale price index amounted to 0.3% against November, and year-on-year it was observed a decrease by 19.2%. Prices for agricultural products declined in May 2012 declined by 0.4% and rose by 0.2% year-on-year for Jan-May 2012. Their growth was 1.2% in December 2011 and 10.3% in 2011, while in December 2010 their rise reached 1.7% and in 2010 – 4.2%. Tags: wholesale prices, inflation Related news
