May 6, Fineko/abc.az. The Office of the United Nations High Commissioner for Refugees (UNHCR) has received an official notification from the Government of Azerbaijan and is completing its activities in the country.

ABC.AZ reports with reference to APAb that the statement was made by Matthew Saltmarsh, a representative of the UNHCR.

He noted that the UN system highly appreciates the 33-year partnership with the government and people of Azerbaijan and has provided support in promoting the main development priorities in the country over this period.

"UNHCR is committed to ensuring the responsible completion of its activities through consultations with all partners and donors."

According to Matthew Saltmarsh, the UN, as in all member states, continues an active dialogue with the Government of Azerbaijan in order to align organization’s activity with the country's national development priorities and promote the implementation of the Agenda for Sustainable Development until 2030.
