May 15, Fineko/abc.az. Since the beginning of 2025, the population of Azerbaijan has increased by 8,253 people, or 0.1%, reaching 10,233,142 people as of April 1, ABC.AZ informs with reference to the State Statistics Committee.

Urban residents make up 54.4% of the country's population, rural residents - 45.6%, men - 49.8%, women - 50.2%.

At the beginning of April 2025, 4.6% of the population accounts for the Nakhchivan Autonomous Republic, 23% - Baku, 9.2% - Lankaran-Astara, 8.6% - Absheron-Khizi, 7.3% - Karabakh, 7.1% - Central Aran, 6.6% - Gazakh-Tovuz, 6.1% - Shaki-Zagatala, 5.9% - Ganja-Dashkesan, 5.4% - Guba-Khachmaz, 5.2% - Mil-Mugan, 4.9% - Shirvan-Salyan, 3.1% - Mountainous Shirvan, 3% - Eastern Zangezur.
