May 19, Fineko/abc.az. Saudi Arabia and Egypt are demonstrating record rates of hotel construction in the Middle East.

ABC.AZ informs that according to Lodging Econometrics, 634 hotels with 158,656 rooms are being built in the region in the first quarter of 2025, an increase of 4% in the number of projects and 10% in rooms compared to 2024.

Saudi Arabia leads the way with 319 hotels with 85,416 rooms. Egypt is in second place: 125 projects with 28,768 rooms, the UAE - 102 hotels with 27,279 rooms.

The leaders in cities are Riyadh, Dubai, Jeddah, Cairo and Mecca — they account for 94% of all projects.

Record growth is observed in the luxury and upper class segments, which account for more than half of all construction projects.
