Social networks cover 86% of the world's adult population

May 30, Fineko/abc.az. In 2025, 5.24 billion people use social networks (63.9% of the world's population).

ABC.AZ reports that according to platform Backlinko, this figure reaches 86.1% among adults. The average daily usage time is 2 hours and 21 minutes. Facebook remains the leader in terms of the number of users (3.07 billion), followed by YouTube, WhatsApp, Instagram and TikTok.

The UAE residents are the most active, using an average of 8.62 social networks per month, while in Japan this figure is only 2.49. In the UAE, over 100% of the population uses social networks (including duplicate accounts), while in India it is only 33.7%.
