June 12, Fineko/abc.az. ING Group, the largest banking group in the Netherlands, forecasts economic growth in Azerbaijan at 2% in 2025 and 2.5% in 2026.
ABC.AZ reports that compared with previous forecasts, GDP growth rate for the current year decreased by 0.5 p.p., and remained unchanged for the next year.
Thus, average annual GDP growth in 2025-2026 is projected at 2.25%.
According to bank's estimates, the economy grew by 0.3% in the 1st quarter.
The economic growth forecast for Q2 of 2025 is 2.5%, for Q3 - 2%, for Q4 - 3%, while for Q1 of 2026 - 3.5%, for Q2 - 3%, for Q3 - 2.5%, for Q4 - 1%.
According to the forecast of the Ministry of Economy of Azerbaijan, GDP growth is expected to reach 3.7% in 2025, 3.2% in 2026 and 3.6% in 2027.
The forecasts of international rating agencies vary: S&P Global expects growth in 2025-2026 at the level of 2% per year, Fitch Ratings - 3% in 2025 and 2.4% in 2026, Moody's - 2.5% per year.
The International Monetary Fund forecasts growth of 3.5% and 2.5% respectively for 2025-2026, while the European Bank for Reconstruction and Development forecasts growth of 3% in 2025 and 2.5% in 2026. The Asian Development Bank forecasts growth in the next two years at 3.4% and 3.3%, respectively, while the World Bank expects economic growth in Azerbaijan at 2.6% in 2025 and 2.4% in 2026.
In 2024, Azerbaijan's economy grew by 4.1%, and for Jan-Apr 2025 - by 0.9%.
