June 13, Fineko/abc.az. Prices for oil of benchmark grades are steadily rising in Friday’s trading after the Israeli attack on Iran's nuclear facilities.
The price of Brent crude oil futures for August on the ICE Futures exchange rose by $4.77 (6.88%) to $74.13 per barrel by 10:38. Following the trading on June 12, August’s Brent crude futures fell by $0.41 (0.59%) to $69.36 per barrel.
The price of July’s WTI crude oil futures on the NYMEX commodity exchange jumped by $4.80 (7.05%) to $72.84 per barrel by 10:38. Following the trading on June 12, WTI oil futures for July decreased in price by $0.11 (0.16%) to $68.04 per barrel.
Israel attacked Iran in five waves on Friday night, hundreds of airstrikes were carried out.
Israeli PM Benjamin Netanyahu has announced the launch of operation Rising Lion against Iran's nuclear program. Israeli Defense Minister Israel Katz called these actions a "preemptive strike" and warned his compatriots about the threat of a possible retaliatory attack from Tehran.
