June 13, Fineko/abc.az. There is uncertainty in society regarding the Draft Law on Gas Supply, which the parliament adopted today in the first reading, ABC.AZ reports, quoting MP Ali Masimli at the Milli Majlis plenary session.
The MP noted that this document is very important, but a number of points require revision:
"The speakers stated that the adoption of the bill would cause civil satisfaction, but it is necessary to clarify a number of issues. As a criterion, I would take the constitutional law "On Normative Legal Acts" as a basis. So, does this bill comply with the requirements of the law that I mentioned in the first place? There are contradictions between it and the constitutional law "On Normative Legal Acts". In addition, the draft law should reflect the goals and functions so that it is understandable to citizens. But there aren't any. The speakers noted that the main purpose of the new law is to more accurately reflect costs in tariffs. At the same time, it was said that this would not affect the price increase. Individuals representing the utility sector say that the costs exceed the existing tariffs. If the new law is a cost clarification, then if not now, then later it may lead to higher prices at the next stage."
