June 19, Fineko/abc.az. In order to improve water supply in the territories liberated from occupation, it is planned to construct a range of new reservoirs, ABC.AZ reports, quoting Ilham Guliyev, the official representative of the State Agency for Water Resources of Azerbaijan.
He noted that a feasibility study and design estimates for the Hekerichai and Bargushadchai reservoirs have already been prepared:
"It is assumed that displacement of the Hekerichai reservoir will be 91 million cu m, and displacement of the Bargushadchai reservoir will be 67 million cu m. These projects will contribute to providing Lachin, Gubadli, Zangilan and other districts with both irrigation and drinking water.
Development of a feasibility study for Sarsang reservoir is also nearing completion: "This reservoir with a displacement of 565 million cu m will serve to irrigate 96,000 hectares of territory in Aghdere, Terter, Aghdam, Barda, Goranboy and Yevlakh districts."
"The documentation for Giz Galasi reservoir project and the 52 km long main canal extending from it, as well as the Terterchai Right-bank Irrigation Canal project, are already ready, and their implementation will begin in the near future. As a result of those projects, the water supply of tens of thousands of hectares of acreage will be significantly improved," Guliyev added.
