Product Festivals Launched in the Regions

10:25 - 20.06.2025

June 20, Fineko/abc.az.  Product Festivals are being launched across various regions of the country under the organization of the Agrarian Innovation Center of the Ministry of Agriculture of the Republic of Azerbaijan. For the first time, these festivals will be held based on a unified concept and will cover 9 economic regions, taking place in 13 regions from June to November 2025.

The main goal of organizing the festivals is to increase the agrotourism potential of the country’s regions, promote local agricultural products, support farmers and producers, enhance public interest in their products, and expand export opportunities. At the same time, these events will contribute to improving the social welfare of the rural population and preserving the national cultural heritage in the regions.

Within the framework of each festival, regional folklore samples, performances by local artists, and products of farming households will be presented, creating an opportunity to showcase the agricultural potential and cultural traditions of the regions to a wider audience.

It should be noted that the company Caspian Event Organisers, the organizer of the Caspian Agro and InterFood Azerbaijan exhibitions, also participates in the Product Festivals initiative. Within the framework of this partnership with the Agrarian Innovation Center, the main goal is to create the necessary conditions for the regions where the festivals are held to participate with their own stands in the 19th Azerbaijan International Agriculture Exhibition Caspian Agro. The aim is to promote local products and brands on an international platform and to contribute to expanding the export and cooperation opportunities of the regions.

The Caspian Agro 2026 exhibition, which will take place from May 5 to 8, 2026, at the Baku Expo Center, will not only serve as a platform for demonstrating products and technologies but will also present to an international audience the traditional values gathered during the Product Festivals, the agricultural and cultural potential of the regions, and the modern capabilities of the country’s agricultural sector. Exhibition participants and visitors will have the opportunity to discover what different regions of the country are known for and to get acquainted with Azerbaijan’s rich national cuisine and the diversity of its agricultural sector.

These events will be held in parallel with the Agribusiness Festivals and aim to promote agricultural products from various regions of the country to the wider public.

This year, festivals will be held in the following regions: “II Apricot” in Samukh, “Vegetables” in Shamkir, “Farmer and Villager” in Dashkasan, “Garden” in Kurdamir, “Peach” in Khachmaz, “II Raspberry” in Goygol, “Grapes and Wine” in Shamakhi, “Rice” in Masalli, “Fish” in Neftchala, “Cotton” in Saatli, “Peanut” in Aghstafa, “V Persimmon” in Balakan, and “Quince” in Agdash.

The festivals, organized based on the principle of public-private partnership, involve active participation of subordinate institutions of the Ministry of Agriculture, other state structures, entrepreneurs, banks and credit institutions, supermarket chains, and organizations such as the “Agro Procurement and Supply” OJSC. This creates a foundation for establishing connections between farmers and suppliers, applying new technologies, expanding product sales, and ensuring dynamic development of the agricultural sector in general.

As part of the Product Festivals, informational sessions on the priority directions of agriculture and training on the topic “Long-term storage of fruit and vegetable products and the application of the cold chain” will also be held.

In addition to the exhibition part of the “Vegetables” festival to be held on July 3 in Shamkir, a picnic zone will be set up for festival visitors with the support of greenhouse owners and farming households. Special areas will be designated for city residents and guests, picnic culture will be promoted, and all food products used will consist of local produce offered by farmers from the region.

The festivals aim to create a festive atmosphere that both enables farmers to bring their products to market and earn income from sales and allows them to celebrate the fruits of their labour. During the events, regional folklore samples, performances by local artists, and presentations of the work carried out in the region throughout the year will also be held. Providing farmers with an opportunity to relax and engage with cultural activities is one of the important aspects of the festival.

These festivals are of great importance in terms of recognising the hard work of those employed in the agricultural sector, improving their welfare, and expanding their opportunities for product sales.

The Ministry of Agriculture and supporting institutions consider the expansion of the geography and sustainable development of the Product Festivals as a priority direction and emphasise that this initiative will continue to contribute to the socio-economic well-being of local farmers, producers, and regional populations.
