September 23, Fineko/abc.az. Azerbaijan is carrying out large-scale reconstruction efforts in the Karabakh and East Zangazur regions, with master plans already prepared for 12 cities.

ABC.AZ reports that the chairman of the State Committee on Urban Planning and Architecture, Anar Guliyev, said about this at the First Azerbaijan International Investment Forum (AIIF 2025) in Baku.

"Of the 12 city plans, eight have been completed in line with modern urban planning and ecological standards. In total, 90 villages and settlements have also been planned. So far, former IDPs have returned to 28 settlements, including 6 cities. Over 50,000 people currently live, work, and study in the liberated territories," he emphasized.

He noted that over the past four years, Azerbaijan has built three international airports, 4,000 kilometers of roads and highways, new railway infrastructure, residential buildings, healthcare facilities, and educational institutions.

"These territories possess vast renewable energy potential and have been officially declared a 'Green Energy Zone'," Guliyev added.
