Ukraine ceases circulation of coins with face value of 10 kopecks from 1 October

October 1, Fineko/abc.az. Starting from October 1, the National Bank of Ukraine will gradually withdraw 10 kopecks from cash circulation.

ABC.AZ informs that according to the financial regulator, 4.1 billion dime coins are currently in circulation among Ukrainian citizens, which is 27.4% of the total number of all coins in the country.

It is noted that they ceased to play a significant role, so it was decided to stop their minting. It is expected that the gradual withdrawal will reduce the costs of the state and participants in cash circulation for the manufacture, processing, transportation, storage and circulation of such coins.

It is emphasized that 10 kopecks will continue to be accepted for payment, but they will be immediately sent to the National Bank for disposal. Also, if there are no necessary pennies during the cash settlement, the amounts will have to be rounded up. This rule will not apply to non-cash payments.

At that, there are still 1.4 billion 50-kopeck coins in circulation in the country, which are still in demand.
