October 8, Fineko/abc.az. In the first 6 months of this year, the investment portfolio of insurance companies increased by 5.6% (94 million manats) compared with the end of last year and reached 1.772 billion manats.

ABC.AZ reports with reference to the Central Bank that growth of the investment portfolio occurred mainly due to funds in banks (205 million manats) and non-government securities (102 million manats).

In addition, insurance companies actively participated as parties to the placement of funds on the REPO market.

As a whole, the investment portfolio makes up 92% of the assets of life insurance companies and 73% of the assets of non-life insurance companies. The investment assets of insurance companies consist mainly of government securities and bank funds.

In the 1st half of 2025, the insurance sector earned 55 million manats from investment activities, which is 7.15% of total income.
