October 8, Fineko/abc.az. The Czech Republic is ready to supply trams and new trains for the Baku Metro from ŠKODA Transportation, ABC.AZ informs, quoting Martin Kupka, Minister of Transport of the Czech Republic.

Kupka noted that the recent visit of Azerbaijan’s Economy Minister Mikail Jabbarov to the Czech Republic provided a valuable opportunity to deepen mutual understanding and explore areas of cooperation in the field of transport and logistics.

"Although specific agreements are under consideration, both sides have expressed interest in enhancing connectivity and supporting sustainable infrastructure development. One of the promising initiatives is the Czech Republic's proposal to supply trams and new trains for the Baku metro from ŠKODA Transportation," Kupka said.

He stressed that this would provide citizens with modern and high-quality transport solutions, as well as create new jobs directly in Azerbaijan.
