Production of citrus fruits and nuts to drop in Turkey

October 30, Fineko/abc.az. The Ministry of Agriculture & Forestry of Turkey forecasts a decline in citrus production.

ABC.AZ informs that compared with the previous year, production of oranges and lemons is projected to fall by 15.0% and 34.8%, respectively.

At the same time, mandarin production is expected to grow by 7.1%.

For other horticultural crops, yield of the main types of nuts is projected to lower against the previous year: hazelnuts - by 38.5%, walnuts - by 38.1%, pistachios - by 61.1%. Production of bananas is also expected to fall by 1.6% and olives by 34.7%, while production of watermelons and melons increased by 8.3% and 17.5%, respectively.
