12:50 - 5.11.2025

November 5, Fineko/abc.az. Russia and Turkey are discussing the terms of prolongation of the two largest contracts for the supply of gas from Russia after expiration of the current agreements on December 31.

ABC.AZ reports that the parties intend to maintain Gazprom's supply volumes for Turkish state-owned Botas company at nearly 22 bcm a year.

The total annual volume under existing contracts is up to 21.75 bcm. Turkey remains the 2nd largest buyer of Russian pipeline gas after China, which supports Gazprom's financial performance amid the loss of the European market.

According to Turkish energy regulator EMRA, Gazprom exported 21.6 bcm of gas to Turkey in 2024.
