November 6, Fineko/abc.az. Azerbaijan may change its policy regarding the application of a tax on crude oil extracted from the bowels of the earth, as well as natural gas and condensates.

ABC.AZ informs that this is reflected in the draft budget package for 2026.

In this regard, it is planned to amend the Tax Code. According to the proposed amendment, the tax rate for production of crude oil extracted from the bowels of the earth should be set at 12 manats per ton of crude oil, and for natural gas and condensates at 15 manats per 1,000 cu m of natural gas and condensates.

Currently, the tax on crude oil production is 26% and on natural gas extraction - 20%.
