November 13, Fineko/abc.az. In 2026, Azerbaijan will increase spending on veterinary and agrochemical services, in particular on preventive measures, ABC.AZ reports, quoting Agriculture Minister Majnun Mammadov as saying this at a joint meeting of the relevant committees of the Milli Majlis.
According to the minister, next year it is planned to expand the coverage of veterinary services, including vaccination against anthrax, foot-and-mouth disease, brucellosis, rabies and other infectious diseases, carried out at the expense of the state.
Mammadov noted that 41.9 million manats have been allocated from the state budget for the organization of veterinary services, the purchase of vaccines and necessary supplies in 2026. He also said that the ministry has requested to increase this amount by another 3 million manats to improve work efficiency.
Financing of plant protection measures and agrochemical services is additionally increasing. 5.4 million manats will be allocated from the State Budget for pest control, and 8.2 million manats for agrochemical analyses and seed control.
The total amount of funds for these areas will be 5.7% higher than in the current year.
