November 14, Fineko/abc.az. The European Union has conditionally agreed to the acquisition of Covestro AG by ADNOC for €12 bn after the settlement of competition issues related to state support.

ABC.AZ informs that ADNOC has committed to preserve Covestro's intellectual property in Europe and limit government guarantees from the UAE - these measures will be in effect for 10 years.

According to the European Commission, such commitments remove risks to competition and ensure companies' access to Covestro's key patents in the field of sustainable technologies. The deal will provide ADNOC with control over the German manufacturer of materials for the telephone and automotive industries through its investment arm XRG.
