November 17, Fineko/abc.az. Over the first 9 months of 2025, Azerbaijan sharply increased car imports from China.

The import of Chinese motor vehicles increased from 11,214 cars for Jan-Sept 2024 up to 38,713 cars.

ABC.AZ reports that growth was 3.4-fold. Thus, China's share in overall imports grew from 18% up to 50%.

As a whole, our country imported 78,205 automobiles for Jan-Sept 2025 (in 2024 - 59,479 cars). This is the highest rate ever recorded. The total amount of imports increased from $284.45 million by 146.8% up to $702.19 million.

The rapid spread of Chinese-made models in the Azerbaijani automotive market over the past 2 years has reduced interest in cars from Germany, Japan and Korea, and prices for many models have dropped by 15-20%.
