China is main creditor of developed countries: U.S. received a record $200 bn

November 18, Fineko/abc.az. AidData's research showed that China provided $2.2 trillion in loans and grants to the world from 2000 to 2023, remaining the largest official lender.

ABC.AZ informs that the U.S. received the largest funds - over $200 billion for almost 2,500 projects.

At the same time, Beijing sharply refocused financing: the share of loans to low-income countries fell from 88% to 12%, while developed and rich countries, including the EU and the UK, received the bulk of the funds.
