November 20, Fineko/abc.az. The total cost of 5 packages of social reforms realized in Azerbaijan since 2019 exceeds 8 billion manats.
ABC.AZ reports that MP Musa Guliyev made the relevant statement at the MIlli Majlis plenary session during the first reading of the Draft Laws on the Budget of the State Social Protection Fund for 2026 and on the Budget of the Unemployment Insurance Fund for 2026.
According to Guliyev, by the order of President Ilham Aliyev dated December 23, 2024, the 5th package of social reforms for 2025 was adopted. Thanks to this decision, the minimum wage has been increased by 16% this year and the minimum pension by 14.3%, and the social well–being of more than 3 million citizens has improved:
"4 million of our citizens have benefited from the social reform packages implemented since 2019," Guliyev stressed.
"Social policy has always been a priority in the domestic policy of the Azerbaijani state. It is no coincidence that traditionally more than 40% of our state budget is allocated to finance social spending. Azerbaijan is a welfare state. Our policy focuses on the citizen of Azerbaijan, his concerns, his safety, and his social well-being. Deep social reforms, especially those carried out in recent years on the basis of the instructions of the head of state, have ensured the achievement of important achievements in strengthening the social protection of the country's population," the MP added.
