December 2, Fineko/abc.az. The overall investments in the non-oil/gas sector of Azerbaijan over the past 20 years have amounted to $213 billion, and for this period non-oil/gas exports have almost doubled.

ABC.AZ informs that Deputy Minister of Economy Sahib Alakbarov said this at the opening of the ASAN Artificial Intelligence Center (ASAN AI HUB) under the State Agency for the Provision of Services to Citizens and Social Innovations under the Presidential Administration (ASAN hidmet).

According to the deputy minister, this can be considered as one of the key indicators of the growth of Azerbaijan's global competitiveness.

"In the Strategy of Socio-Economic Development of Azerbaijan for 2027-2030, approved by the relevant presidential decree, ensuring sustainable and competitive economic growth is identified as one of the country's five national priorities. In this regard, accelerating the transition to the digital economy and the introduction of new technologies are one of the main strategic goals," Alakbarov added.

He noted that the "Digital Economy Development Strategy" prepared within this document is currently at the final approval stage and is aimed at accelerating Azerbaijan's digital transformation: "The strategy, which covers more than 50 initiatives and projects, provides for the technological transformation of business, the formation of competitive human capital and the transition of management to data-based models. The Artificial Intelligence (AI) Strategy, approved this year, defines responsible and ethical use of AI as its main goal, as well as ensuring sustainable economic development in this area."
