Fitch improves global economic growth forecast for 2025

17:39 - 4.12.2025

December 4, Fineko/abc.az. Fitch Ratings has improved its forecast for global GDP growth in 2025 to 2.5% from expected 2.4% in September.

ABC.AZ reports that this is stated in the December review of the Global Economic Outlook (GEO)

Global economic growth is expected to slow down to 2.4% in 2026 (the previous forecast was 2.3%).

In 2024, global GDP grew by 2.9%.

The growth of investments in the IT sector and the increase in the welfare of the population due to the stock market rally mitigate the negative impact of increased import duties, the agency said.

The forecast for U.S.’ GDP growth for the current year has been raised to 1.8% from 1.6%, and for the eurozone to 1.4% from 1.1%. The American economy is expected to grow by 1.9% next year, while the European economy by 1.3%.
