December 8, Fineko/abc.az. The Board of the Central Bank of Azerbaijan (CBA) has amended the Rules for Conducting Payment Transactions & Payment Instruments.

ABC.AZ reports that CBA governor Taleh Kazimov signed a new decree.

According to the amendments, the concepts of AZQR code (QR code generated to pay for goods, works and services in Azerbaijan), static AZQR code (containing fixed data corresponding to the content of the payment transaction), dynamic AZQR code (containing changing data corresponding to each specific payment transaction) and AZQR code provider (supplier in Azerbaijan, which generates the AZQR code for making payments and/or provides the user of the payment service with the functionality of reading the AZQR code).

To make payments via QR code in Azerbaijan, dynamic and static AZQR codes developed by payment service providers must comply with the requirements approved by the Board of the AMB. These requirements will be posted on the institution's website. The supplier of the AZQR code must provide the possibility of a full or partial refund of funds for the completed payment transaction through the AZQR code.

Settlements between payment service providers for transactions conducted through the AZQR code in the national currency within the country will be carried out through AIS (Automated Payment System).
