Largest number of foreign direct investments in Georgia for quarter attracted from U.S., Spain and Azerbaijan

December 9, Fineko/abc.az. In the 3rd quarter of 2025, Azerbaijan became one of Georgia's main investors, ABC.AZ reports, quoting Georgian Deputy Minister of Economy and Sustainable Development Vakhtang Tsintsadze.

He added that foreign direct investments in the country for Jan-Sept  2025 made up 11% more against the 2024 same term - $1.296 billion, and in the 3rd quarter alone - 2-fold more - $533.2 million.

"During the quarter, the largest number of foreign direct investments were attracted from the USA, Spain and Azerbaijan. This further strengthens Georgia's position as a regional business center. The growing investments are mainly directed to the sectors of water supply and waste management, real estate, transport, finance and insurance, information & communications," he said.

In addition, Tsintsadze said that the priority of the Georgian government is to attract investments to the country that create high added value and ensure knowledge transfer: "Such investments have a direct positive impact on economic growth in the medium term. The government is actively working on such projects, and this will affect country's high economic growth in the coming years."
