Ozempic maker’s shares plunge more than by 50% after test failures

December 11, Fineko/abc.az. Shares of Novo Nordisk A/S, the manufacturer of Ozempic and Wegovy, have fallen so much this year that it seems as if the hype around weight loss drugs that led to the rapid growth of the Danish pharmaceutical company has never happened.

ABC.AZ reports, referring to Bloomberg, that in 2025, the company's shares plunged by more than 50%, the worst performance in its history, amid disappointing clinical trial results, multiple profit warnings, and fierce competition in the obesity drug market.

The stock price did not collapse by over 50% on a single test failure, but rather due to cumulative setbacks over the year.
