December 16, Fineko/abc.az. Australian company Incat Tasmania has successfully tested the electric motor of new 130-meter ferry Hull 096, the world's largest all-electric vessel. The tests took place on December 14, 2025 in Hobart.

ABC.AZ informs that the ferry is equipped with a battery system weighing over 275 tons and with capacity of over 40 MWh, which allows for a 90-minute trip across the river with full load (2,100 passengers and 220 vehicles) without recharging. The system includes 5,016 lithium-ion batteries and eight electric water cannons, and fast charging takes only 40 minutes.

The vessel offers passengers the largest shopping area among ferries and combines eco-friendliness with comfort. Corps 096 will become part of route Buenos Aires - Colonia del Sacramento in South America, reducing the carbon footprint of the transportation industry.
