January 16, Fineko/abc.az. SOCAR launched a new important stage in gas exports from Azerbaijan by selling significant volumes of gas in the markets of Southern and Central Europe through the Trans-Adriatic Pipeline (TAP), the European segment of the Southern Gas Corridor.Thus, starting in January 2026, Azerbaijani gas, along with other countries, began to flow to customers from Austria and Germany.

ABC.AZ informs that the supplies carried out to these countries through Italy further expand the geography of Azerbaijani gas in Europe. Thus, the number of importing countries of Azerbaijani gas has reached 16.

SOCAR, acting within the gas strategy formed under the leadership of Azerbaijani President Ilham Aliyev, is consistently expanding its marketing activities in Europe and the Middle East, increasing its portfolio of cooperation with foreign partners and strengthening Azerbaijan's position as a reliable energy supplier on international markets.
