January 16, Fineko/abc.az. A laboratory will be created at the Institute for Artificial Intelligence Research (IIIA) at the Spanish Supreme Council for Scientific Research (CSIC) to study the interaction of humans with robots and AI.
ABC.AZ reports that according to newspaper EL PAIS, the project for 175,500 euros is funded by the European Fund for Regional Development and provides for equipping the center with mini-robots and a semi-humanoid robot.
The laboratory will focus on "social intelligence, cognitive resilience, and ethical responsibility" of AI, including the development of a social robot for the treatment of children with autism.
The technical equipment will include a computing cluster for language models, speech and motion recognition systems, as well as virtual environments. This is part of Spain's government AI strategy with budget of 1.5 billion euros, aimed at ethical and human-oriented technology development.
