Cocoa gets cheaper: quotes fall below $4,300 first time in two years

January 21, Fineko/abc.az. Exchange prices for cocoa beans in the world on Wednesday fell almost by 8%, for the first time in two years falling below the mark of $ 4,300 per ton, according to ICE Futures data.

ABC.AZ , as of 13.51 (Baku time) The price of the March (nearest) cocoa bean futures fell by 7.79% relative to the previous close, to $4,290.5 per ton. The indicator is below the $4,300 mark for the first time since January 12, 2024.

Prices for cocoa beans have already dropped by 28% since the beginning of the year, while in December the figure increased by 10%.

The cost of cocoa reached a historical record in December 2024, rising above $12,000 per ton for the first time.
