TotalEnergies gains full control over Zeeland refinery

12:36 - 11.02.2026

February 11, Fineko/abc.az. TotalEnergies (France) bought the remaining 45% of the Zeeland refinery in the Netherlands from Lukoil, gaining full control over the plant with capacity of 180,000 b/d.

ABC.AZ informs, referring to Reuters sources, that the amount and terms of the transaction were not disclosed. Although the refinery was not formally subject to U.S.’ sanctions, the risks to supplies and the possible sale of Lukoil's assets prompted Total to buy out its stake.

The company will present its report for Q4 and 2025 on Wednesday. Earlier, it predicted a 230% rise in refining profitability in Europe amid sanctions against Lukoil and Rosneft.
