February 11, Fineko/abc.az. Venezuela has sent a shipment of crude oil to Israel, marking the first such shipment in recent years.
ABC.AZ informs that Bloomberg writes about this. The export of hydrocarbons from the Latin American country is being redirected to new markets after the change of government.
The cargo is intended for Bazan Group, Israel's largest oil refining company. The supply became possible after the U.S. seized Nicolas Maduro in early 2026, and the administration of Donald Trump took control of the sale of Venezuelan oil.
Venezuelan Information Minister Miguel Perez Pirela called the message about the shipment as "fake".
The deal demonstrates a fundamental reversal in Venezuela's energy policy. Previously, the lion's share of the production went to China. Now, after Maduro's removal, oil flows are being redirected to buyers in the U.S., India, Spain, and now to Israel.
Venezuela last supplied oil to Israel in mid-2020.
