February 11, Fineko/abc.az. German automaker Volkswagen is exploring the possibility of transferring production of the next model of electric coupe crossover Cupra Tavascan from China to Europe.

ABC.AZ informs that the decision relates to new EU tariffs on Chinese-made electric vehicles, which previously increased the duty on Tavascan up to 30.7%.

This week, the model received an exemption from import duties, a minimum price and quotas were introduced. The SEAT/Cupra representative noted that the current line in China is beneficial due to synergies and global partnerships, and the company does not disclose future strategic plans.
