Venezuela signs multimillion-dollar contract for supply of gold to U.S.

March 5, Fineko/abc.az. Venezuela's state-owned gold mining company Minerven has signed a multimillion-dollar deal on sale of gold in the U.S., ABC.AZ informs, referring to Axios’ informed sources.

As part of the deal, Minerven is to provide 650 to 1,000 kg of Dore gold bars to Trafigura, a commodity trader that will supply gold to U.S. refineries under a separate agreement with the U.S. government.

Sources of the publication also claim that U.S. Interior Secretary Doug Bergam, who arrived in Venezuela on Wednesday to discuss the possibilities of oil and mineral extraction, helped conclude a contract for the supply of gold.
