March 5, Fineko/abc.az. The changes in tax legislation in Azerbaijan are based on the instructions given by the decrees and orders of the country’s president.

ABC.AZ informs that Nijat Imanov, the head of the Main Tax Policy Department of the State Tax Service, made the above-said statement at the forum on the theme "Looking into the future of the tax system: a new management model and data-based solutions", held in Baku.

According to Imanov, the changes are also based on the strategy of socio-economic development, a framework that is formed on the basis of meetings with entrepreneurs and their proposals.

"Until now, there was misconception that changes to the Tax Code are made without discussion with entrepreneurs, and they will find out about it suddenly at the end of the year. To date, nearly 350 specialized meetings have been held and close to 600 proposals received. As a result, 114 changes relating to business environment and problem solving have already been included in the legislation and entered into force," he emphasized.
