Bank BTB is transformed into NBCO

March 6, Fineko/abc.az. By the decision of the Board of the Central Bank of Azerbaijan, dated March 5, 2026, in accordance with the legislation, Bank BTB OJSC received preliminary consent to reorganize in the form of transformation into a non-bank credit organization (NBCO). Necessary transformation measures will be taken under the supervision of the Central Bank in accordance with the Rules of Bank Reorganization.

ABC.AZ reports, referring to the CBA, that as part of the process, an Asset & Liability Transfer Agreement was signed between Bank BTB OJSC and the country's largest bank in terms of assets, Azerbaijan International Bank OJSC (ABB).

According to the agreement, deposits of individuals and legal entities in Bank BTB OJSC will continue to be serviced at ABB without changing the terms, or returned to customers by agreement. Also, the rights of claims against borrowers of Bank BTB OJSC are transferred to ABB, which will accept payments. Information for clients will be provided through the official communication channels of ABB and JSC BTB Bank.

Thus, the reorganization of Bank BTB OJSC does not pose a threat to creditors and depositors.

The share of Bank BTB OJSC in the country's system is 0.6% in assets, 0.9% in the loan portfolio and 0.6% in the sector's liabilities.
